Interzoo News, 26 April 2010

For the first time with over 1,450 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and a new record gross display area of over 90,000 square metres, the 31st Interzoo is once again the biggest international marketplace for the pet supplies trade. The exhibition promoter Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH (WZF) expects more than 35,000 trade visitors from over 100 countries.

Hans-Jochen Büngener, Chairman of the Interzoo Exhibition Committee, says the exhibitors have high hopes of the coming Interzoo despite the economic crisis: “The international pet industry is counting on the pet supplies market developing positively, because experience shows that pet owners set other priorities than consumers without pets. Pet owners still expect products of a reliable quality for their pets, even in difficult economic times. The manufacturers of pet supplies respond to this existing and still growing sense of responsibility with continuous improvement and expansion of their product ranges. And Interzoo offers the ideal setting for launching these new products worldwide.

“Klaus Oechsner, President of the German Pet Trade & Industry Association (ZZF), the honorary sponsor of Interzoo, thinks the pet industry’s world exhibition every two years is a special opportunity, particularly for the domestic market: “As leading exhibition more or less on their doorstep, Interzoo is the ideal platform for specialists from the German pet supplies trade to obtain an overview of pets and people living together, test new products and then sell these to customers in their shops.”
